Artist Park Dawon loves to run. That is why the hero is Hamdori, the fastest hamster in the forest. Instead of a tale of running alone, the artist chose a story of searching and sharing together. The closing line the artist holds dearest is: “They shared almonds and walnuts with friends and lived happily.”

Artist Seo Jeongbin’s elephant has a large body, can draw water with the trunk and spray it, and eats grass. What the artist most wants is a lively trip with family. So on the hottest day, the hero sprays water high and cools everyone. Warm watercolor with the grain of the paper is the artist’s pride.

A bubble magician who brings smiles to friends who are unwell

Artist Song Jiho’s hero, Elephant, is a many-talented elephant friend. The finest gift is rainbow bubbles made with the trunk. From the first line to the last, the artist carries one wish — “I want friends who are unwell to smile” — and carefully designs a bubble show and festival around it.

Artist Hong Seungwoo wrote a complete prose story from start to finish. The hero, Wangnuni, uses wondrous eyes that make anything look larger and finds the book he wants among countless shelves in a moment — a hero who mirrors an artist full of questions. The place of the artist’s dreams is the library.

Artist Yeo Hwi’s Kkangchong is a rabbit who can jump very high, loves to travel, and is excellent at eating carrots. Alone the tall fence would not yield; with friends, a way over appears. Lee Minwoo has worked in literature, content, and publishing. The practice spans press and culture work including Newspaper and News Journalism, and includes debut as a picture-book author. In My Pink Elephant, Lee planned the program and taught, guiding each student artist’s imagination as it grew into finished work.
