Kkangchong is a rabbit who jumps very high. Kkangchong loves to travel and is very good at eating carrots. Morning greetings go kkangchong; answers go kkangchong!

Kkangchong’s wish is to jump freely, lots and lots. Over the hill, into a wider world — to travel!

But at the edge of the village stood a very, very tall fence. Kkangchong! …plop. Kkangchong! …tumble. No matter the jump, it would not clear.

“One more time! Kkangchong! …oof.” Jump after jump until sunset, but the fence was too high. Kkangchong felt glum.

Then friends came near. Turtle, Squirrel, Baby Goat, and little rabbit siblings. “Kkangchong, not alone — try with us!”

“Let’s make a ladder!” Stick by stick they built. But the ladder reached only halfway up the fence. “Too short….”

“Then let’s stack stones!” Heave, heave. The tower grew higher. Then — crash-rattle! “Aaah!” No one was hurt, but everyone was dusty all over.

They put their heads together and thought again. Then Turtle said, slow and steady, “We have… something better. A… seesaw!”

Heave, yo! With a log and a plank they built a big seesaw. Kkangchong stood at the end of the plank. Heart thump-thump.

“Kkangchong, ready? With courage! One, two, three!” Thump! The friends hopped down hard on the other side.

Whoosh~! Kkangchong flew high into the sky! The fence shrank below the feet. “Wooow! The world is this wide!”

Soft land! Beyond the fence Kkangchong threw the gate wide open. “Everyone, come on! Let’s go together!” It felt so good.

So the rabbits and friends set off on a happy trip together. Through flower fields, across a stream, and carrot pie in a new village. Kkangchong! One more time!

At night they all lay on a hill and watched the stars. “Kkangchong, thanks to you we cleared the fence too.” “No — we cleared it because we were together.”

Then shooting stars poured down. They made a wish, and their bodies began to float! The rabbits rose into the sky. Hop-hop among the stars — the highest jump in the world! With courage, together, anything is possible.

On the road Kkangchong met a baby fox before a tall fence. Kkangchong grinned and said, “Not alone — try with us!”
