What we made
About the project
My Pink Elephant was an eight-session AI-assisted creative program for five university student artists with developmental disabilities, held at Hyupsung University’s Wesley Hall from May 22 to July 10, 2026.
Three promises for the class
Every choice can become a feature of the work. Difference is not an error. Adults listen before they help.
An eight-week journey
Artists began with a hand drawing, developed a character and story, assembled scenes, and completed a picture book with music.
The artist leads
AI did not know an artist’s experience or feeling. Students made the story’s decisions; AI-assisted tools helped turn those decisions into words and images.
For families
At home, ask open questions, write down the artist’s own words, and read the finished book aloud together. Please do not complete the story for them.
A note on this website
The exhibition contains eight picture books: five student-originated stories, one by Lee Minwoo, an opening frame story, and one special story. Illustrations were AI-assisted; the student artists’ original drawings, choices, and music remain central.
